Founded in 1978, Aid for Women helps thousands of women each year in the Chicago metropolitan area who find themselves facing unexpected pregnancies. Each woman is provided with the emotional, practical and spiritual support that she needs to choose life for her unborn baby and to provide a better future for herself and her children. Our life-affirming services are offered to clients free-of-charge and include: compassionate counseling, pregnancy tests and ultrasound exams, Earn While You Learn Program (EWYL), parents-to-be support group, residential programs and medical and community referrals.

Aid for Women seeks a Development Associate to boost our growing organization’s communication and gift acknowledgment efforts with our donor base. This full-time position with benefits will ensure proper donation record keeping, complete our rigorous donor acknowledgement procedure and provide support to senior staff on fundraising tasks as necessary.
The ideal candidate need not have database or fundraising experience, but should be extremely organized and methodical in his or her work habits.
He or she should be highly skilled at managing time independently and building professional relationships in a variety of communication media (written correspondence, phone calls, personal emails).
Due to the urgency of Aid for Women’s mission and the importance of personal contact for our work, significant Chicago-area travel and evening/weekend hours will be required, especially for special events. As Aid for Women has an “all hands on deck” culture where all employees pitch in during major events and initiatives, flexibility and adaptability are key to the position. The Development Associate will report directly to the Assistant Director.
