Hours: 15–30 hours/week
As a summer contractor in American Philanthropic’s Oak Park office, you will provide the staff there with operations and general administrative support, as well as back-end assistance with client projects. The projects you might be called upon to assist with include donor research; general writing; copy-editing; contact list development; filing; event planning; and office administrative tasks.
This position would be ideal for a current student or recent graduate who is looking for part-time employment and is interested in learning about the nonprofit sector and fundraising in particular. This position will require a regular presence in American Philanthropic’s Oak Park office, a total of 15–30 hours a week.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate acute intelligence, a keen eye for detail, a high degree of personal initiative and conscientiousness, and ability to learn quickly. You must be willing to take personal ownership of projects, accomplish tasks, and make consistent progress on projects with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, some familiarity with the nonprofit sector, and the ability to successfully and quickly learn to use other specialized programs including Salesforce, are a plus.
