  Project Manager Kara Björklund Beer has worked as a development officer, grant writer, manager, and editor in the nonprofit sector for almost fifteen years. She is the former managing editor of Modern Age, a literary quarterly, and the former development department manager at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, where she oversaw an annual budget of $5 million, the writing of grant proposals and reports, a staff of ten, and the planning and execution of major donor events, including the institute’s forty-fifth anniversary celebration. Most recently, as the owner of an editorial and design firm, Kara has coordinated complex publications projects for clients ranging from the Cardinal Newman Society to Frog’s Leap winery. Her company has also provided book design, writing, copy editing, proofreading, indexing, and other publishing- and communications-related services for a variety of publishing, media, and nonprofit organizations. Kara holds a degree in philosophy from the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts in Merrimack, NH. |
