Carolyn Kley Fanning is the president and founder of Planned Giving Solutions, Inc. in Alexandria, Virginia. Founded in 1999, Planned Giving Solutions develops, maintains, and enhances planned giving programs for a variety of conservative not for profit organizations in the Washington, D.C. area and nationally. Her articles related to charitable gift planning have appeared in publications such as The Michigan CPA, Planned Giving Today, Successful Estate Planning Ideas and Methods, and The Tax Savings Reporter. From 1991-1999, Carolyn was the Director of Gift and Estate Planning at Hillsdale College and coordinated hundreds of charitable remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities and other giving arrangements. From 1986-1989, she worked as a senior staff CPA with Ernst & Whinney in their Boston and Chicago offices. Carolyn received her BBA and MBA degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She also holds a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from the Notre Dame Graduate School of Christendom College. Carolyn has been active in civic, performing and professional organizations throughout her career as an officer and a volunteer. She is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the National Committee on Planned Giving (NCPG), and the American Council on Gift Annuities (ACGA). Carolyn lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband, Michael (1992 Hillsdale alumnus and Director of the Hillsdale Southeastern Regional Office), and son, Gregory. |
