Nonprofits and the Future of Publishing

American Philanthropic partner Jeremy Beer explores the future of publishing in "By the Book." He maintains that even as the industry continues to be shaken by the digital revolution, book publishing is likely to survive, largely because of the the vitally important but largely invisible roles that publishers play beyond the physical production of books. Smaller mission-oriented publishers in particular, he argues, may be better positioned than ever to take advantage of the new marketplace.
