New Zealand Politician Lauds US Philanthropy, Encourages Countrymen to Follow America’s Model

Even as the Obama Administration explores the possibility of reducing the charitable deduction for wealthy Americans, philanthropy in the United States remains a model for the rest of the world.  The prime minister of New Zealand encouraged people in his country to donate the money they will have thanks to recent tax cuts.  When living in America he had admired its "culture of giving," The New Zealand Herald reports.  This was partly because Americans earned more, but also because of a "culture of generosity and giving ingrained in them for generations.”  See full story below.
