New Study: Philanthropy in a Turbulent Economy
Mar 15, 2009
The Chronicle of Philanthropy reports on a new study by Cygnus Applied Research that shows that more than 52 percent of donors said their gifts would be on par with 2008, while just 17.5 percent planned to give less. The report surveyed over 17,000 donors who had given in the past to charity. Many donors seem to be standing on the sidelines waiting to see what happens with the economy in 2009 before deciding how much to give to charity. The report includes information useful to charities in shaping their solicitation strategies for 2009.
